Type 97 Automictic Rifle (QBZ-97) is a Chinese bullpup type assault rifle developed in 1999. It  is the export version of the Type 95 Automactic Rifle (QBZ-95) which chambered in 5.8mm cartridge, however Type 97 was design for chambered in 5.56mm NATO and accept STANAG Magazines. Type 97 Rifle now mainly used by Cambodian Special Forces and Bodyguard Unit, Myanmar Military and Sudanese Army.

Type 97 has 3 main variants: Carbine Type (QBZ-97B), Light Machine Gun version (QBZ-97 LSW) and the 3-round burst Version (QBZ-97A). It also has a semi-auto civilian version based on Type 97A & Type 97B and started selling in Canada in 2008.
