The Thompson submachine gun is an American submachine gun, invented by John T. Thompson in 1918, that became infamous during the Prohibition era, becoming a signature weapon of various crime syndicates in the United States. It was a common sight in the media of the time, being used by both law enforcement officers and criminals. The Thompson submachine gun was also known informally as the "Tommy Gun", "Annihilator", "Chicago Typewriter", "Chicago Piano", "Chicago Style", "Chicago Organ Grinder", "Trench Broom", "Trench Sweeper", "The Chopper", and simply "The Thompson"
The airsoft version here is a carefully crafted AEG from ARES. One of the most notable features is that this is not a typical AEG as it features EBB (Electronic Blowback). Much like its real life counter part all the selector switches and magazine releases are all located in the same position. This airsoft Tommy gun can also be disassembled easily by separating the stock from the body and removing the magazine. This allows the gun to take up much less space during travel.
ARES uses the "Typewriter" to feature its new battery connector design. The gun's stock features two connection points that connect with the receiver towards the rear. Once you have connected the battery within the stock to its standard small Tamyia connector, you can then simply install the stock back to the receiver to power up your AEG. The "Typewriter" also features ARES's tried and true E.F.C.S. fire control system.
