What we have here is a pistol that is uncommon in both the real steel world as well as the airsoft world, why is it? We are not sure but this is a pistol that could rival titans such as the Glock pistols or the Smith & Wesson M&P pistols, this is the Steyr M series, more specifically the Steyr L9A2. The Steyr M Series of pistols was introduced and developed by Steyr Mannlicher GmbH & Co KG of Austria, the company that introduced the AUG and the Steyr Scout to the world. The M series is designed for the police and civilian shooting market. This KJ Works L9A2 gas airsoft pistol is based on the 4th generation A2 MF series (MF stands for Modular Frame, we will get to that later) and the "L" in the name stands for Large size, Styer also produced medium and compact pistols and is denoted with "M" or "C" respectively.

So what is so special about this Austrian striker-fired non-Glock thing you might ask? Well first of all it's not a Glock! This alone makes the gun stand out among other striker-fired style airsoft pistols and put it in a league like the Canik TP9 or the H&K VP9 and it can be something you could consider if you are looking for a striker-fired styled airsoft pistol that just isn't a Glock because you want to be different. But this gun isn't just a Glock in Steyr's skin, it is in fact more than that.

Externally, the KJ Works STEYR L9A2 kind of resembles the Archon Firearms Type B gas airsoft pistol, In the sense that it has an ergonomic and somewhat aggressive grip angle, but the similarities end there as the Steyr L9A2 gas airsoft pistol features interchangeable grips and backstraps as it is base on the 4th Gen A2 MF series which does come in the box allowing for different hands to grip to comfortably. The slide profile of the Steyr L9A2 is of a low profile, not as low profile as a CZ Shadow 2 but defiantly lower profile compared to a Glock-style pistol this allows easy manipulations of the slide yet still keeping it low profile enough that it would be lighter and give the shooter faster follow up shots.

The Steyr L9A2 gas airsoft pistol has Picatinny accessory rails allowing for accessories such as laser and flashlights, the iron sights are of a unique trapezoidal design, which is uncommon but it is very readable all you would need is just a bit of time to get used to it. The main safety on this L9A2 gas airsoft pistol is located on the trigger as it does feature a trigger safety similar to what you get on Glock pistols and a manual safety located next to the takedown lever.

The Hop-up of this pistol can be adjusted by removing the slide and adjusting using the wheel located at the hop-up chamber similar to other gas airsoft pistols. please note that this version of the KJ Works STEYR L9A2 is the CO2 version, if you are looking for the Green Gas version, click here.
