The SG 550 family is a gun manufactured by firearms maker Swiss Arms a former division of Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft. The SG 551 is a carbine version of the full-sized SG 550 rifle. The SG 551 carbine has a short pattern 363 mm (14.3 in) barrel, gas tube, and piston compared to the SG 550. The SG 551 series rifles have a 466 mm (18.3 in) long sight radius. The handguards were also changed and the bipod was removed. The SG 551 cannot be used with a bayonet or fire rifle grenades. The SG 551 comes in several specialized variants designed for use with security and special forces.

The GHK 551 Tactical gas airsoft rifle is a faithful replica of this carbine rifle. This gas airsoft rifle features a top Picatinny rail, folding stock, Cerakoted receivers, a railed handguard, and a magazine that can be interlocked with a spare magazine, making reloading a lot faster. This rifle is longer than the more compact GHK 553, but it is as maneuverable as this carbine is almost the same length as most other more prominent rifles such as the AR-15 / M4 or AK platforms, but due to the GHK 551 being able to fold its stock, you can take this airsoft carbine and use it in tight spaces without any issues.
